Things to keep in mind

Lay diagonally
If you lay diagonally, you will find a flatter laying position. To find this position, sit in the middle of the hammock, perpendicular to the direction it is hanging, then rotate until it feels flat.. which should be at about 45degrees.

Welcome pillows
A pillow under the head is useful when you want to read or (god forbid) work on your laptop in your hammock. If you are planning a nice sleep, you may consider two pillows, the second one for under the back of the knees.

Not to tight
Brazilians hang their hammocks in a deep U shape. This makes it easier to find the best laying and sitting positions. To get a deep U shape, the ends of the hammock should be about 180cm (6ft) above the ground and the middle should be about 60cm (2ft) off the ground (before you get in the hammock)

Big is best
The bigger the hammock, the flatter it will be in the middle when laying diagonally. Also you will have more choice of laying positions in a larger hammock.
